THE National network of youth centers

The National network of youth centers is developing as a modern and sustainable network of youth centers working according to a single quality standard, providing conditions for the development of the youth society and working for the benefit of the youth sector. The National network of youth centers works to popularize the importance, significance and contribution of youth work in strengthening economic and social cohesion, local development and reducing poverty in Bulgaria. The network works for the creation of a unified standard for the quality of youth work, through the implementation of planned and coordinated activities.

The mission of the National Network of Youth Centers is to guarantee the sustainable development of the youth sector and the quality standard of its members, through the implementation of its strategic goals aimed at increasing and using the potential and capacity of young people, who are a significant social capital in the development of a community.

Strategic Objectives/Priorities:

• To represent and protect the interests of the youth centers;
• To be an initiator and participant in the structural dialogue for the youth with every representative authority;
• To unite, represent and protect the interests of its members before Bulgarian and foreign authorities and organizations;
• To participate in the development of strategies, analyzes and programs for the development of youth policies;
• To assist the institutions in building and changing the regulations concerning youth activities in the country;
• To expand the scope of activity of youth centers;
• To participate in the development of youth policies at the national level
• To increase the opportunities for active civic participation of young people at a national level;
• To increase the quality of work and competencies of youth workers and Roma mediators and other staff of the center, by providing training, experience exchange and good practices;
• To promote the position of the “Youth Worker” and increase public confidence in the profession;
• To carry out cooperation with Bulgarian and foreign organizations working in the field of youth activities and policies, with the aim of exchanging experience in the field of education, culture, sports, etc.
• To create conditions for realizing and spreading the goals and ideas of young people.

Since now, together with colleagues from NNYC, we have managed to hold two live-meetings – an exchange in Dobrich on the topic “Challenges of youth work” and a conference in Pernik – “Under the many masks of the youth work”.

Several online meetings were held, in which the main topic of conversation was our cooperation, as well as presentation of the annual plan for the activities of this year’s chairman of the NNYC – YC Vratsa.

We have participated in several training sessions with some of the centers in order to exchange good practices and networking.
